Fundraising

Would you like to become part of the Fundraising team or just get more involved? We continue to raise funds for the refurbishment of our scout hut and to support our scouting activities and are always in need of help planning the events or help on the day. If you have any spare time, whether it be a couple of hours or more, please contact our fundraising secretary

Events

We have a few events and fundraising activities planned over the course of the year to help us meet our target. Come along and support us at any of the following:

RaiseTheRoofLogo_30
  • Village Day (June):  We will have a stall on the Common for this, providing entertainment for all in the form of games.  Come along on the day and support us.  If you could spare some time to help out at this, please let us know.

  • London to Brighton Bike Ride (June): Once again we will be providing breakfast rolls, sandwiches, burgers and drinks for watchers and participants alike! We would welcome volunteers to come and help us with this, so if you're a budding cake baker, sandwich maker or willing to help out at the stall on the day, please get in touch to find out how you can help.

  • Cinema Sundays (December): In the lead up to Christmas we have a showing of a DVD for the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts in the hut.  This gives the parents a few hours to get some valuable preparation time.

How Else Can I Help?

In addition to giving your time and supporting the various fundraising events above, there are many other ways in which you can help us achieve our fundraising goals:

Fundraise - Are you planning on running a 10-K, half marathon, triathlon or similar? Why not use this as an opportunity to raise sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues in the name of 1st Lindfield Scouts?

Corporate Matching - Many employers support local charities by offering employees the chance to boost their individual fundraising efforts by matching the money they raise for their chosen charity.

Give As You Earn - UK taxpayers can set up a monthly donation that is deducted before tax.  For each £1 that we receive in this way, the cost to the individual may be only 80p, or as little as 60p for higher rate taxpayers.

Gift Aid - If you are a UK basic rate taxpayer and you make a one-off donation or sponsor an event held on behalf of 1st Lindfield, this enables us to maximise the value of your gift.  For every £1 you donate, we can claim an extra 25p from the UK government.

And if you have any other ideas you would like to explore, why not contact our fundraising secretary via the form below.
